Online Classes! (and some Event Cancellations)

I write to you from Leander, 30 minutes from Austin. I’ve relocated here for the foreseeable future, holing up with my polyamorous/leather family as we ride out the wave, as some in our family are immune suppressed.

Because of this, the Sexual Health Alliance and I have talked, and after conferring with AASECT (American Association for Sexuality Educators, Councilors, and Therapists), we have has an amazing opportunity arrive. My two day intensive – “Our Intimate Selves: Exploring Sex, Gender, Orientation, and Transgender Awareness” is now being offered online worldwide, complete with CE credits that so often have to be received in-person, and prices have been dropped as well to make this information more accessible. You can join me April 24-25 by going here.

However, though both Oklahoma Leather Fest and Colorado Leather Fest have been rescheduled to later this year, I will not be able to attend them due to scheduling conflicts. As of right now, my rope bondage classes at The Crucible are still set to go in May, as is Camp Crucible, and Dark Odyssey: Fusion, and I look forward to seeing folks for these in May and June.

Take care of yourselves and take care of each other. Stay home if you can, practice social distancing when you can’t, and know that for those of you who work in fields where this is not a choice (medical providers, grocery stores, cleaning crews, food service, sex work) that you and your work are appreciated and valued.

Want some ideas of things to do from home? Check out the Social Distancing Festival, authors reading their kids stories over at #OperationStorytime, and this wonderful guide to virtual museums, e-learning, and online collectionsMs. Cenna and I are also discussing doing some other online classes and projects during this time as well, so stay tuned.

Much love from Leander,

Lee Harrington
