Bondage Jazz
This is a post I just made to the AdultRopeArt list, when someone asked "why do so many great bondage artists do seemingly messy bondage... are they better than us, what's going on?"I think of rope bondage like jazz music. First, learn all the rules. Painstakingly practice every cord, learn every tune, study all the greats. Obsess. Learn from as many teachers as you can, or focus on the style of one or two artists who inspire you and make their work your muse. Find your own muse. Practice. Obsess. Play. Play harder. Now forget everything you've learned and follow your soul. Your hands will remember what came before. That's the secret to great jazz music. I think it's the secret to great rope bondage too. Learn. Play. Obsess.... then forget it all and follow your soul.Shoo-be-do-be-do-be-do-be-do-bop.For photography I am obsessive about clean ties whenever possible- I just helped shoot a video yesterday with Madison Young and Jewell Marceau yesterday, and I was obsessing on stupid twists of rope... but when I play, I tend more towards feeling, towards soul. I love clean melodies, and the rhapsody of a perfect blend of tones, but from time to time we need to be jarred out of our comfort zones and just let the music flow hard and fast out of our veins, the world screaming out of our hemp trumpets as it were.Kisses,Bridgett Harringtonhttp://www.ropelover.com
